C’mon, guys! Don’t let the title of the blog keep you from reading it! I’ll keep it simple.

Get plenty of sleep because the body rejuvenates in sleep mode.

Drink water. If it’s too plain, add a few slices of lemon or lime. Water assists with helping nutrients to travel through the body while flushing toxins, out.

Exercise. Move around. Stand tall with shoulders back and don’t slouch!

Don’t smoke.

Eat sensibly and include fruits and vegetables in your diet. If you can, eat six small meals per day. If you can’t, don’t just eat a big lunch each day. Make time for at least a decent breakfast, healthy lunch, and dinner. Waiting eight to 10 hours between meals is not a healthy idea.

Work in a daily skincare regimen of a cleanser, moisturizer that is matched with your skin type, and use sunscreen. The bar of soap that you use on the body may not be a good thing to use on your face. Different parts of the skin have different pH levels, bacteria, and oil. Try Sea Enzyme Facial Cleanser and 24-hour Moisturizer.

Speaking of skincare, let’s get right to shaving and keeping a clean-shaven face. When shaving, try a cream-base vs. gel-base product. Gel-based products usually contain more alcohol thus drying and/or irritating the skin. Wash your face, first, with cleanser to remove any dirt, debris, oil, etc., and even shave in the shower if you prefer. If you are in a hurry, though, and do not have time for a shower, then dampen a washcloth with very warm water and drape it on the face until the cloth cools. Use a sharp blade with a moisturizing strip and shave against the direction of hair growth for a close shave. For those of you with sensitive skin, shave with the grain of the hair to avoid friction and irritation. Glide, don’t scrape, the skin! Follow with moisturizer. To help maintain either a beard or goatee, use a hair conditioner to soften the facial hair before trimming it. Sea Enzyme carries an all-natural, organic California Botanical Conditioner.

Did you know that if you eat one baked potato and the skin, you get 75% of your daily copper needs? Copper is an essential mineral that works with Vitamin C and zinc to produce elastin fibers which support skin structure. Too little copper in your diet can reduce your skin’s ability to heal.

Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and plums are all high in antioxidants! All of them taste great, too!

Oysters, if you can stomach them, and turkey are rich in zinc that helps to fight pimples and also helps boost elastin (the skin’s elastic protein) with the help of Vitamin C.

Flaxseed oil contains Omega3s – essential fatty acids which hydrate the skin. These essentials also dilute sebum and unclog pores that otherwise lead to acne. Add a tablespoon of flaxseed oil to a pan of vegetables! Salmon, flaxseed, walnuts, and canola oil are high in Omega3s.

Tomatoes are filled with lycopene that helps eliminate skin-aging free radicals caused by UV rays. Watermelon is also high in lycopene!

How can we forget chocolate? There’s always a way to work in the chocolate. Dark chocolate contains flavonols – antioxidants which reduce roughness in the skin and protect it against sun damage.

Last, but certainly not least, drink water. It helps to move nutrients, in and toxins, out. How do you think that broken down fat is eliminated from the body?

It’s easy to do! Make either your breakfast, lunch, or dinner plate of food as colorful as a field of wild flowers! Everything in moderation, though. Eat sensibly.

Look in the mirror. The body is an incredible machine. Continued maintenance, now, will mean fewer skin challenges in the future.

It’s spring! The weather is getting warmer and beautiful flowers are blooming. With the brilliant colors of spring, think along those same lines about colorful foods. A healthy skin diet includes those fresh fruits and vegetables with the deepest, vibrant colors.

Salad bars are the best when it comes to eating healthy while enjoying the sumptuous flavor and nutritional value of foods which contribute to healthy skin.

Vitamin A is one of the most important to the body. Mangoes as well as carrots are loaded with Vitamin A that helps to maintain and repair skin cells while also rich in antioxidants to fight free radical damage that can prematurely age skin.

Rich in riboflavin, B vitamin, is vital to your skin for tissue maintenance and repair as well as improves skin blemishes. This vitamin is so important for skin repair that the body uses large amounts after sustaining a burn or wound. Foods high in B vitamins are oatmeal, eggs, rice, and bananas.

Add avocados to your diet! They are abundant in essential oils and B-complex vitamins that help nourish skin. The green gem also contains niacin – an anti-inflammatory that soothes irritated skin as well as red, blotchy skin. If you don’t like avocados, try wheat germ and sprinkle it on yogurt.

Acerola cherries, kiwi, spinach, and sweet potatoes are full of Vitamin C. The vitamin plays a central role in the production of collagen – the structural protein in your skin, keeping it firm. This antioxidant fights skin damage and wrinkles.

Almonds and sunflower seeds. Fun snacks which are high in Vitamin E as well as rich oils which moisturize dry skin. Its antioxidants protect against skin damage like that caused by UV light.

Those foods containing selenium that plays a key role in the health of skin cells are whole wheat bread, muffins, and cereals. Turkey, tuna [in a can], cottage cheese, and Brazil nuts also contain selenium. Why is selenium important? The nutrient helps preserve elastin – a protein that keeps skin smooth and tight as well as the antioxidant properties are also believed to buffer against the sun.

While all of us are not blessed with the genetics of incredible skin, there are very simple ways of getting healthy skin. It’s not rocket science and can easily be attained from the inside as well as the outside. Running out of hours in the day between work, studying, and overall maintaining a balanced lifestyle? The best advice is always to just keep it simple.

Get plenty of sleep. The body rejuvenates in sleep mode. Drink more water. Skin is the largest organ of the body and needs water for greatest performance. Do not smoke and quit smoking if you do!

Doing stuff to get your body ready for summer clothes and a bathing suit? Preparing for graduation and all of the parties? Planning for prom?

What is the largest organ exposed to the environment on a daily basis? Skin. Use sunscreen to help in the avoidance of skin cancer and a speckled appearance. Sunburns are definitely not a good look. Try our Sea Enzyme Ultra-Umbrella Environmental Protection to protect your skin against environmental damage.

Manage stress. Yes, it’s easier said than done but figure out what works for you to de-stress whether it’s working out, walking, or sitting quietly in a room to meditate.

Move around! Get that body in motion! Dance!

Treat skin gently and use warm vs. hot water in the shower or bath, avoid strong soaps, shave carefully, pat skin dry vs. rubbing dry with a towel, and moisturize the skin.

In keeping it quick and easy, a skincare regimen of Sea Enzyme Facial Cleanser and Sea Enzyme 24-Hour Moisturizer that is matched with your skin type, and sunscreen are the best products to have on hand. With travel sizes to keep in your handbag just to be prepared for those unexpected evenings.

Eat sensibly. Include a well rounded array of foods in your daily routine. Oatmeal, eggs, rice, and bananas are rich in Vitamin B that forms the base of skin, hair, and nails. Now, you know why the doctor takes a look at your fingernails during an annual exam! Vitamin C helps to protect the skin from sun exposure and is present in cranberry/grape juice and leafy greens. Olives (present in some drinks), spinach, nuts, seeds, and vegetable oils all contain Vitamin E that protects the skin from sun exposure as well. Fruits and vegetables are high in Vitamin A that is essential for repair of skin tissue. Vitamin K can be found in leafy greens and dairy products as well as pork. Ingesting some good fats is also essential for the skin, hair, and nails. Everything in moderation.

Mother’s Day is coming! Get prepared! Pamper mom by making a plan for a Home Spa Treatment. All moms are busy these days so call her and schedule the date on her calendar. Have you been listening to her when she talks about fashion, shopping, hairstyles, and skin care? Sea Enzyme boasts a myriad of products for the hair, body, and face.

Arrive at your mom’s home and surprise her with a basket of ‘care.’ Have her get into comfy clothes while you prepare to give her a<a href="http://www.seaenzymeca.com/face/sea-enzyme-seaweed-gel-mask.html"target="_blank"> Sea Enzyme Seaweed Gel Mask facial. After applying the gel, have mom lie down on the couch. Place a cucumber slice over each of her eyes and turn on her favorite music while she relaxes. In the meantime straighten up mom’s living room or even clean up the kitchen for her!

After her facial, run a bath for mom and add <a href="http://www.seaenzymeca.com/body/sea-enzyme-aromatic-sea-salt-scrub.html"target="_blank">Sea Enzyme Aromatic Sea Salt. If she likes the scent of citrus as well as bubbles, add <a href="http://www.seaenzymeca.com/body/sea-enzyme-seaweed-citrus-shower-gel.html"target="_blank">Sea Enzyme Seaweed Citrus Shower Gel to the water. Light some scented candles and place a washcloth and bottle of <a href="http://www.seaenzymeca.com/body/sea-enzyme-normalizing-seaweed-body-oil.html"target="_blank">Sea Enzyme Normalizing Seaweed Body Oil near the tub so that mom can reach it and have that feeling of well-being and full body relaxation. Have either a tall glass of chilled water with a splash of fresh squeezed lemon in it or a nice cup of hot tea just the way she likes it ready for her to drink while she is soaking in the tub.

While mom is relaxing, lend a hand by finishing something on her ‘around the house to do’ list that she never gets around to! Make her either lunch or dinner and have it ready by the time she finishes with her Home Spa Treatment.

Gain more time to complete some of those items on the ‘to do’ list by knowing ahead of time just what your mom needs in the way of skin care. Leave a container of either <a href="http://www.seaenzymeca.com/specialty/vanilla-body-butter.html"target="_blank">Sea Enzyme Vanilla Body Butter or lotion by her bath towel so she can layer on the product to moisturize her skin and even some <a href="http://www.seaenzymeca.com/face/sea-enzyme-24-hour-moisturizer-with-light-sun-protection.html"target="_blank">Sea Enzyme facial moisturizer to complement her needs.

Make mom’s day by spending time and talking with her. She will love you for it.

If you would rather spend the money on great Sea Enzyme hair products such as Sea Enzyme California Botanical Shampoo, Sea Enzyme California Botanical Conditioner, and Sea Enzyme Seaweed Gel Mask for deep conditioning, do so and save money on the wrapping. Purchase a beautifully woven basket at a resale shop while buying tissue paper, a hair towel, and hairclips from an extreme discounter. Use the hairclips to secure the towel or tissue paper in place and create the homemade packaging.

How about facial products? Sea Enzyme covers the gamut with facial products for all skin types including Facial Cleanser, 24-hour Moisturizer, Mega-moisture Mist Spray, Seaweed Gel Mask, and Ultra Umbrella Environmental Moisturizer. Listen to your mom’s concerns, and purchase the products to best suit her immediate needs. Covering for the products can be done with a monogrammed hand towel gathered at one end by either a ribbon or headband hair accessory.

Is your mom grumbling about ‘alligator’ skin? Choose Sea Enzyme products from its line of numerous body goods. The Sea Enzyme Vanilla Body Butter was featured in Body Sense – “Although you could eat it, you’ll want to wear it. This highly moisturizing, whipped body cream for silky smooth skin is spiced with the inviting scent of pure vanilla beans…” Wrap the product(s) in an embellished body towel of your mom’s favorite color.

DEEP CONDITIONER

A natural hair care deep conditioner that can be made from household ingredients is the avocado/mayo deep conditioner. Use half of a ripe avocado, using the soft meat of the avocado mashed extremely well with a fork into a puree then blending a half cup of mayonnaise and two tablespoonfuls of either raw coconut, jojoba, olive, or grape seed oil in a mini-food processor or blender. Apply to the hair from root to tip and cover with either a plastic bag or plastic shower cap while also layering on a towel. Do not add heat as the body’s natural temperature will rise in warmth under the plastic. Leave the mixture on the hair for a few hours depending upon the condition of the hair, then rinse out with warm water.

If food does not seem enticing to put on your hair, opt for Sea Enzyme California Botanical Shampoo and the Conditioner. With their green tea/apple scent and all-natural ingredients, they restore natural oil production leaving hair moisturized. Birchleaf extract is a natural cleanser that also stimulates hair growth, the wheat proteins hydrate to revitalize and help with moisture balance, and Horsetail Extract helps to strengthen hair. There is also the SeaEnzyme Seaweed Gel Mask that can be used as a hydrating treatment for the hair - apply to wet hair, comb thru, wrap in plastic or a shower cap, leave on overnite, then wash it out in the morning.

To spice it up, get your mate involved! Try giving each other a natural hair care oil scalp massage and use either:

-) Neem Oil (to relieve dry/itchy scalp, dandruff, and symptoms of scalp psoriasis)

-) Coconut Oil (if you have a dry/itchy scalp or over-colored hair)

-) Almond Oil (for thinning hair).

Rub the oil in the scalp/hair with significant vigor and either leave it in for 30 minutes or sleep overnight with it while putting a towel on your pillow. Shampoo and condition as usual.

After washing, pat hair dry with a towel and let the remaining moisture in the hair dry naturally. Hair is most fragile when wet so avoid either brushing or combing it when wet or else it will cause breakage. Gently use your fingers or a pick to untangle any knots while hair is drying. Wait until hair is almost completely dry before attempting to brush it.

Comb hair to remove any tangles before brushing it. Use brushes/combs with widely spaced bristles/teeth and smooth tips. Sharp tooth combs can damage your hair, cause split ends, and scratch your scalp. Use a brush with bristles made from natural animal hairs as it is softer and more flexible which means less damage will be done to your hair. Begin by combing your hair at the ends to get any tangles out and work your way up to the base of your hair. Always brush/comb with a downward stroke.

SHAMPOOING

Shower with warm water as hot water can dry and/or irritate the scalp. Use Sea Enzyme California Botanical Shampoo and Conditioner. For oily hair, lather only once as lathering, again, may stimulate oil glands to create even more oil than normal. Wash oily hair either every day or every other day. Dry hair ought to be washed two to three times per week. Be gentle for natural hair care when shampooing and conditioning; do not use excessive force rubbing your hair as it is most vulnerable when wet.

Shampoo the hair with products which contain soothing agents such as silicone, antioxidants, and protein to keep hair healthy. Natural hair care products containing Birch leaf extract add to the health of the hair because it is a natural cleanser that is also known to help stimulate hair growth.

A healthy lifestyle will mean healthier hair for you. Excessive stress, smoking, not exercising, and not eating nutritiously are not healthy for your hair. Getting plenty of sleep is also part of healthy hair care tips.

As the weather is getting warmer and we approach swimming season, here are a couple of hair care tips for both ocean and pool enthusiasts:

 a) before entering the water, wet the hair with SeaEnzyme Mega-moisture Mist Spray, so that hair will soak up this initial liquid instead of either sea or chlorinated water, and

 b) when swimming, wear a cap to protect the hair from either sea or chlorinated water (our moms knew this years ago); if not, make sure to shampoo and condition the hair right after swimming. If staying out by the pool or continuing to spend the day outdoors in the sun at the beach, follow shampoo and conditioner with a leave-in conditioner; it is the equivalent of moisturizer on the face!

An additional hair care tip is to rotate shampoo and conditioner periodically as hair responds differently to atypical products. Try Sea Enzyme California Botanical Shampoo and Conditioner. Remember not to use excessive force rubbing your hair while shampooing as it is most vulnerable when wet. Put conditioner in at about an inch away from the scalp. The roots contain most oils and do not need the extra conditioning.

When styling, hot air can be damaging to your hair so when using a hair dryer, use the cool setting. Do not leave the blow dryer in one spot for more than a few seconds. Keep it moving and at a good distance away from your hair. Always comb/brush with a downward stroke.

Avoid putting hair styling products directly on the scalp. If put on the scalp, they will clog the pores on your head. Also, try to avoid using hair style products with alcohol which dries out the hair. A further hair care tip is to know and keep away from the styles which damage hair the most: ‘tight’ pony tail, using curlers, and braiding.

To keep your brushes and combs clean, wash them weekly using soap or shampoo.
